Russia's Federal Agency for Tourism has issued recommendations urging tour operators to communicate the causes of each charter flight delay and the planned departure time to tourists as well as to provide airport transfer in time for the rescheduled flight. In his interview to Tourprom, Dmitriy Gorin said the instructions were published following the latest work group meeting in the Federal Air Transport Agency. The Federal Agency for Tourism will get fully involved in this process for the first time, gathering information about all delayed flights every day at 8 am. 'The Federal Agency for Tourism will keep in touch with tour operators, but from now  on the responsibility to inform tourists lies with these companies. The impact of the ban on direct flights between Russia and Georgia was discussed during the Pryamoy Efir show on Moscow 24 TV channel. The ban has affected tourists who had to cancel or rebook their trips and business alike, Dmitriy Gorin points out. 'The lack of direct air connections is obviously a serious limitation. The flight now lasts 5–7 hours instead of the usual 2, and there are no great deals anymore. Individual travellers, accounting for most of those choosing this destination, are also making less trips now. In July alone, tour operators lost USD 4.4 million', said Dmitriy Gorin. The hosts of Russia-1's Utro Rossii show analysed the prices for holiday deals in August, the 'hottest' tourist season. Although August holidays are usually the most expensive, there can still be some last minute deals.  'There aren't many of them (last minute deals), just 1 % of all the offers. These should be booked the night before the flight. The discount may amount to 20%–30% and above. You can also save money by opting for a lower hotel category, etc.', explained Dmitriy Gorin. The hosts of Russia-1's Utro Rossii show discussed a new business travel trend combining business trips with leisure. Experts are convinced that this type of travels will only get more popular. In his turn, Dmitriy Gorin warned all those willing to combine work with leisure that such travel arrangements have to be mandatorily negotiated with the employer in advance.

On the night of 6 August, prices for international flights from Russia rose by 2%, reports RIA Novosti with a reference to IATA's resolution. 'Domestic flight prices won't be affected by IATA's new exchange rates.
