In support of its globalization strategy, Vipservice is introducing Amadeus' latest IT products, gaining access to one of the best travel analytics tools. It is about using the Amadeus Travel Intelligence - Agency Insight solution.

The cooperation of two key market companies - the leading provider of information technology for the travel industry Amadeus and the largest Russian holding company selling aviation, railway and travel services, Vipservice, has been going on for more than 20 years.

According to the head of the CDO (Data Management Service) of the holding Alexey Shchankin, he had a very positive impression of the Amadeus decision. “At the first presentation of the product in the Amadeus office we were shown visualization based on qlik sense (Business Intelligence system) - I was very pleased to see this, since qlik sense is used as a business analytics tool in Vipservice. I was even happier with the extended Amadeus Travel Intelligence product, which includes a report designer comparable, in my opinion, to Microsoft and Pentaho pivot tables. Vipservice operates many business analytics systems in order to satisfy the needs of all user groups with the highest quality and with the correct “price of information” - “the benefits of receiving it” ratio. I am happy to note that the approach to combining Business Intelligence tools at Vipservice and Amadeus is similar.

It was quite valuable to study our own company “from the outside” as a structure, to understand its market share. This is possible thanks to the Booking Analysis module. It provides access to ticket booking statistics, allows to see the agency’s market share by destination or airline, learn about trends on popular flight routes, and understand the dynamics of ticket sales of different carriers. The statistics are based on MIDT data and include information from three leading global reservation systems (for example, analysis of data by city of departure, destination, by booking period and by airline).”

Also, Alexey Shchankin noted the convenience and speed of comparing data for all airlines in different sections, including information on carrying capacities and flight schedules around the world - this feature is provided by the Schedule Analysis module, which is also included in the Amadeus Travel Intelligence - Agency Insight solution.

Data on airlines, directions, the number of flights for a certain period, the amount of seats available, etc., the ability to understand the standard behavior of the airline on the route, as well as to compare these data with other carriers - all this makes it possible to draw up a development map for the sales department by region and country. Vipservice Holding is widely represented in many regional and international markets, which adds a significant amount of its own statistics and creates a kind of Road Map, or a plan that the sales department can use to analyze in detail the future market share.

And even in today's difficult situation concerning the forecasts, the quality of vision and the level of work with information, combined with the reasonableness and speed of management decisions, is the key to minimizing losses, and in the future is a way to achieve a competitive advantage. Therefore, you need to start preparing scenarios “to get out of the current situation” now, and Business Intelligence systems are a key component in this strategy.
